casper in response to pedro's question:
When was Amsterdam's City Theater built?(give a different answer) .
Amsterdam's City Theater, with its balcony arcade, dates from 1894. People criticized the building - as they criticized every city theatre before or since - and the funds for the exterior decorations never materialized. The architect, Jan Springer, couldn't handle this and retired. The theatre is used for large-scale plays, operettas and festivals such as Julidans.
