During Queen's Day, on 30th April, (the birthday of Queen Juliana, mother of the current Queen Beatrix), there is a crazy and wonderful madhouse: street parties, live music, dense crowd, lots of beer and a free market through the city, when anyone can sell anything they like. If you're coming, wear something orange.
