Take a closer look at the Artis Zoo, it has both indoor and outdoor pursuits. At the Nederlands Scheepvaartmuseum you can see wonderful old ships, and a re-creation of a historic trading ship, usually staffed with costumed hosts. Artier museums may get your attention as well. The Civic Guard Gallery allows your kids to dip a toe in for free.
