Is there anyone that might know when the Royal Palace of Amsterdam was built?(give a different answer) .
The Dam's most imposing building, the Royal Palace began life as the grand stadhuis (city hall) of republican Amsterdam - in use since 1655, completed 1665. It replaced the old city hall on the same spot, which had burned down. The stunning interior is much more lavish than the stark exterior suggests and is well worth visiting.
