Amsterdam, the Art Nouveau buildings

Posted 1 year ago by avatar dizzy in response to waheed's question: I am studying art and I was wondering which of the buildings of Amsterdam better represents the Art Nouveau style? (give a different answer) .

Art Nouveau can be seen in a number of structures, most notably the Greenpeace Building, located on Keizersgracht 174-176 and built in 1905 for a life insurance company. The facade has huge tile tableau which shows a guardian angel who seems to be peddling an insurance policy. Other Art Nouveau structures are the Amsterdam American Hotel, which occupies a prime location on the Leidseplein, and the riotous Tuschinskitheater.
